Mother Betty Fort is the only daughter of Willie and James Coleman. She was born in Rich, MS.
She was raised in Venice, Illinois by her grandparents until she reached the age of 10. She later
moved to Milwaukee, WI, where she attended North Division High School.
Mother Fort has four (4) biological children and six (6) adopted children. She also has 22
grandchildren. She was a foster parent for over thirty (30) years in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
She has served as an Aide to State Supervisor Ataska King, in Wisconsin Third Jurisdiction.
She also served as the Minister of Music of the Department of Women, Teacher of Evangelism,
Dean of Women’s Inspirational Hour and Coordinator in the Youth Department as well as Chair
Lady of the State Missions Department while serving in North West Wisconsin Jurisdiction,
under Supervisors Elnora Austin and Artie LaValley.
Mother Fort attended C.H. Mason Bible School in Milwaukee, WI where she also founded the
Gospel Women’s Fellowship, and has spiritual sons and daughters throughout the United
States.
In November of 1995 she married Elder George Fort III. She moved to Los Angeles, CA in May of
1996. She and Elder Fort, between them, have fifteen (15) children and twenty eight (28)
grandchildren.
She is currently the First Lady of Community Chapel Church, in Compton, CA, where she serves
on the ministerial staff and is the coordinator of the Women’s Ministry. Mother Fort was installed
in November of 2005 by Mother Willie Mae Rivers as the Supervisor of Women of the
Metropolitan Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction, under the leadership of Bishop J. Bernard Hackworth.
As an evangelist, Mother Fort has traveled extensively conducting revivals, seminars and
retreats throughout the country.
Most of all, she is saved, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost. She is a servant of God and
the people.
Her motto is “There is a Word from the Lord”
